Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is about way more than being tired all the time. Those with CFS have extreme fatigue that is not relieved by sleep, have an impaired short term memory, muscle pain, weakness, joint pain, headache, neck pain and a plethora of symptoms.
A doctor will diagnose someone with CFS if they have at least 6 of the above key indicators. It is rumored that only 20% of CFS cases are ever diagnosed at all. Women are 2-4 times more likely than men to be diagnosed.
The cause of CFS is still unknown but typically an illness or major stress event triggers it and it can last from 2 years to decades.
If you have CFS more than likely you’ve been to multiple doctors trying to figure out what’s wrong. You are probably on a list of medications to control the symptoms. Your immune system has been compromised. Massage can help with this by moving the immune, nervous and endocrine system toward a deeply restful (parasympathetic) state allowing the body to heal. Massage can also aid in relieving the muscles of their toxic load and alleviate joint pain and headaches.
Once a week massages are ideal for CFS patients and each massage will be completely cutomized to what you need on that particular day.
